I know there are people staying at the JW Marriott and the Westin. If PSU does not arrange travel to/from Bowl, there may be enough alums to carpool, rideshare or get their own small shuttle. Let's duirect them somehow to an online place they can connect.
Close, convenient and likely expensive and sold out. Probably best for people wanting to go to the parade.
LODGING SOUTH BAY
Manhattan and Hermosa 10-15 min south of LAX, westside 20-30 with more traffic. Santa Monica great for people staying more than a couple days so tour LA, South Bay more convenient to airport for in-and-outs.
Embassy Suites LAX is offering special PENN STATE rates between December 26th and January 6th. Contact Veronica Hill at 310 469 0025 or email@example.com
Torrance (near freeways or Redondo Beach border for access reasons)
Redondo too far unless you are adjacent to MB or HB - avoid references to "south Redondo"
the Valley but I am not familiar with coming to Pasadena from the north
(Glendale, Burbank, Studio City)
Beverly Hills, Sunset Strip, Westwood if you can afford it but you should rent a car
Most cities east and south of LA will be too long of a commute to Pasadena
Ingelwood has some good areas but you should be familiar with the city before planning to stay there
Gardena longer commute and again you should be familiar with Gardena before planning to stay there
Hawthorne look for lodgin closer to Manhattan Beach or near the 405 free way
VALLEY CITIES WITH GOOD ACCESS TO PASADENA
hotels on Sepulveda - Holiday Inns, Days Inn, Bel Mar, Hotel Hermosa
Ayres Hotel on Rosecrans at the 405 exit - has a package. Extremely convenient, clean, boutique-ish. Across the street form Costco and a shopping center, 3 mi from LAX
All LAX hotels put people smack-center between 2nd Half and Britannia but the bus is filling. I have 10 seats left. If someone sets up a second bus using our identical itinerary, LAX hotels are a good recommendation.
